Artist Residency in Portugol

Some experiences change you quietly, from the inside out.
My residency at Aviário in Portugal was one of them. Surrounded by light, landscape, and the kind of stillness that only comes when you step far outside your routine, I found myself returning to something essential — the conversation between darkness and light that has always lived at the heart of my work.
Out of that time came a new series: Light Will Prevail Over Darkness.

These pieces are deeply personal. They are about endurance — the kind that doesn't announce itself loudly but simply keeps going. They are about the immigrant experience, about displacement, about the long journey of finding where you belong. And ultimately, they are about hope — the stubborn, quiet insistence that light finds its way through.
Working intuitively with color, texture, and layering, each piece in this series became its own meditation. A reminder that even the heaviest darkness is not permanent.
I'm grateful for the space Aviário gave me to go deeper. And I'm excited to share this work with you.
