This painting began as a self-portrait and became something larger — the story of a woman navigating new lands with no chart to follow. The figure dissolving into the sea is me, and also every woman who has ever arrived somewhere unfamiliar and had to find herself in the landscape around her. Water has always been my constant — the one element that feels like home regardless of which shore you're standing on.

Within the waves, I wrote a poem in two languages, then sealed the words beneath layers of resin, so they drift just below the surface — the way memories of another place live just beneath the present moment. The poem speaks of arrival, of belonging, of mapping yourself onto a world that didn't expect you.

This is a one-of-a-kind original painting — no prints exist. It is made for anyone who has ever redrawn their own map.
