This mixed media piece is deeply personal. The girl in the painting represents me — and also any woman who feels the same pull toward life and water. The sea is my element, something very close to my heart, and in this work it becomes the central force. Within the waves, I’ve written a poem, layered in resin, so the words appear to drift and flow like memories carried by the ocean.
